chapter 4
...and this is 1997
1997 Maggot traipse off round to Tonys' again to record 'Sweetheart Lay Down'. Another bloody tape! Then Moggy leaves to join a band that makes money (splittter!). I ask you, what do people want nowadays? "TONY" they cry "we need a bass player." Tony agrees to play as a temporary measure until Maggot find a new member.
1998 and Tony is still in the band as they decide to come up to date again and record another CD. They remove themselves to deepest, darkest North Baddesley to record at Sound On Sound studios under the engineering skills of Mike Godden. 'HMMM' was recorded over two days and mixed by Mike, Tony and Mark over the next week.
At the end of 1998 Danny decided Maggot weren't rock'n'roll enough so he wandered off into the drifting snow. The band did a couple of gigs with Tony playing bass while sitting on a drum stool, and playing bass drum and hi-hat at the same time! Less than satisfactory, but highly amusing for a while. Our heroes fall into a deep depression. Is this the end for Maggot?
Is it bollocks. Enter Adrian Hood into the fray. It took a lot of persuading to get him to play but it's amazing what nipple clamps can do. So the gigs commence again. But what is this? Tony, still playing bass with the motley crew.
